If you are working on problems like this, you show know that the proper use of parentheses is important.
Use them when you post your questions. It is not our job to try to guess what the expressions in your post really are.
Your first expression, as you post it:
2(x+2)/xsquared+4x-5-1/x+5 --->
Your second expression,as you post it:
2/t+1++3/t+2
That one has no clear meaning at all because of the double "+" sign....
