and when we divide it using a calculator we get -0.4166666667

Look at A. 5/-12 is a positive divided by a negative which is also
a negative and when we divide it using a calculator we also get
-0.4166666667.  So A is equivalent to -5/12

Look at B. 5 divided by -12 is the same as A just written in words.
So B is also equivalent to -5/12

Look at C. 0.416 is not equivalent to -0.4166666667.  So it isn't
equivalent to -5/12.
