the quantity 3 times x?
A. –6x^2+ 25x + 6
B. 6x^ +5x + 6 C. 6x^2– 5x + 6
D. 6x^2– 5x – 6
E. 6x^2– 13x – 6

Answer by addingup(3677)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The product of means multiplication
3 less that twice x = (2x-3)
"and" means multiplied by
2 more than the quantity 3 times x (3x+2)
So, what have we got so far? We have:
(2x-3)(3x+2)
Using FOIL we proceed
First: 2x*3x = 6x^2
Outer: 2x*2 = 4x
Inner: -3*3x= -9x
Last: -3*2 = -6
OK, let's put them together:
6x^2+4x-9x-6 Add +4x-9x and you get -5x
6x^2-5x-6 This is your answer.
