Question 669255: When you subtract the third of three consecutive odd integers from 6 times the first, the difference is 33. What are the three numbers?
I have tried this and think the equation I used does not produce integers so I believe it has no solution. Am I wrong?

When you subtract the third of three consecutive odd integers from 6 times the first, the difference is 33. What are the three numbers?
I have tried this and think the equation I used does not produce integers so I believe it has no solution. Am I wrong?

Let the first integer be F
Then other 2 are: F + 2, and F + 4

Therefore, 6F - (F + 4) = 33

6F - F - 4 = 33

5F - 4 = 33

5F = 37

F, or first number = , or .

You're 100% CORRECT. There is NO SOLUTION to this problem as is NOT an integer, and integers are what the problem asks for.
