Question 604304: how do I graph 9/8 on a number line?
Answer by jim_thompson5910(35256) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
9/8 = 1.125, so draw a number line and plot a point that is slightly beyond 1.
If you want to get more accurate, divide the interval from 1 to 2 into 8 pieces (you can do this by cutting the interval in half, then cutting each piece in half, etc...do this 3 times).
On the third cut, you'll have 8 equal intervals. At the end of the first piece is 1/8, which is where you'll plot your point.
