Question 55429: Solve and graph the solution set. 4x + 8 > 3x + 16 I do not know how to put a line und the greater than sign.
Answer by BGluvsmath(64)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
4x+8>=3x+16
Subtract 3x from each side: 4x-3x+8>=3x-3x+16
Simplify: x+8>=16
Subtract 8 from each side to isolate the variable: x+8-8>=16-8
Simplify and solve: x>=8
(Note: >= can be used to show greater than or equal to. Likewise, <= can be used to show less than or equal to.)
Graph as shown, then draw an arrow to the right starting at the dot.
