Yes, okay...from
n - 3 2/5 = -1 7/10
we add 3 2/5 to both sides...
n = -1 7/10 + 3 2/5
now convert 2/5 into 4/10 and combine
n = -1 7/10 + 3 4/10
n = 1 7/10

Question:
Lets see if I can help you out...
This is a fairly simple equation involving fractions.
So first we need to eliminate the fractional expressions by finding the lowest common denominator (LCD) and then multiplying all the terms on both sides of the equation by the LCD.
So...
The denominators are 5 and 10.
The LCD for 5 and 10 is 10.
So we then multiply both sides by 10 like so...
Which becomes...
Now this is much easier to work with.
Now, isolate the variable (n) by adding 12 to each side of the equation...
Now, divide both sides by 10 in order to "undo" the multiplication of 10n.
and simplify...
I hope this helps.
Thanks for the question
Good Luck!
