Question 255050: Points A and C lie on a number line with coordinates -13 and 17, respectively. Find the coordinate of the point 3/5 of the way from C to A.
(A) 11 (B) -1 (C) 5 (D) 6 (E) -7

Answer by Greenfinch(383)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Length of AC is 30 units (13 + 17)
1/5th of that is 6 units, so 3/5 is 18 units.
Measuring 18 units starting at C and going towards A is starting at 17 and subtracting 18 giving -1
