Question 25308: explain how a negative number with more zeros in front of it is bigger than a number with less zeros?
ex: -.00235 is bigger than -.0235

Just pretend they're both positive. The .00235 would be smaller than the .0235. So when they're negative the smaller number is bigger because if it was on a number line it would be closer to zero.
Hope this helps
