For this type of equation. (assuming that we're looking for the measurement for the last side of a triangle.) You always have to remember this.

A Squared + B Squared = C Squared

It's simple! Here, let's say that AC was A, and that BC was B. (If you wanted to, you could make AC B, and BC A. But it really doesn't matter.) Now you Square them both.

(I know 1/3 goes on forever, but I can't put it down with 1/3 without it being auto "corrected". So if it really bothers you, just imagine a bunch of 3's ^^')

(This might be a fraction, but i'm not sure. So if you're allowed to round, then i'd round it to 28.44)

B

Now you add the 2 numbers. (I'll use the 28.44 for this, but you might want to check with your teacher)

And this would be your answer....if A squared + B Squared = C. But nooooo it's C squared, so we need to find the square root of 33.5025. Which is 5.788134414. (It might even run longer, but my graphing calculator only goes to 9 digits. So again, I would round to about 5.8)
