Answer by LilSkittleMd(119) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The equation for this problem is 1/2x+16=4-2/3x
Solve the equation:
The x's need to be on one side and the numbers on the other, add 2/3x to both sides of the equation
1/2x+2/3x+16=4
Now subtract 16 from both sides of the equation
1/2x+2/3x=-12 (Add the two fractions together)
7/6x=-12 (Divide both sides of the equation by 7/6)
x=-72/7
The number for this equation is -72/7
Answer by BadLandsBarn(8) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
1/2N + 16 + 4 = 2/3N
20 = 2/3N - 1/2N
20 = N/6
120 = N
--------------------------------
Check
1/2(120) + 16 + 4 = 2/3(120)
80 = 80 Check works.
Answer by Amilasor(2) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
1/2(x) + 16 = 2/3(x)-4
x/2 + 16 = 2x/3 -4
x/2-2x/3 = -4-16
3x-4x/6 = -20
x= 120
