The first thing you need to do with this equation is to get the x's on one side of the equation and the other numbers on the other side of the equation.
28-2.2x=11.6x+262.6
First add 2.2x to both sides of the equation. This will cancel out on one side
28=13.8x+262.6
Subtract 262.6 from both sides to get x by itself
-234.6=13.8x
Now divide each side by 13.8 to find the value of x
-17=x
The value of x is equal to -17
