Draw a horizontal line. Mark the line with positive and negative numbers, with 0 between those two groups numbers. Then mark the locations for 4, 9 and -11. These are shown below as points A, B and C (in that order)


The labeling A,B,C is optional. I only did it to allow easier reference.
