Question 141799: I am in desparate need of assistance with augmented matrix. I need to solve the following situation: A group of students decides to sell pizzas to help raise money for their senior class trip. They sold pepperoni for $12, sausage for $10, and cheese for $8. At the end of their sales the class sold a total of 600 pizzas and made $5900. The students sold 175 more cheese pizzas than sausage pizzas. Set up a system of three equations and three unknowns, use an augmented matrix to solve. Identify the three unknowns. Write a separate equation representing each of the first three sentences. Determine the augmented matrix that represents the three equations and solve for the matrix.
And finally, how many of each type of pizza were sold?
If any one can assistance I would appreciate the help.

Question 142041: I am quite confused when it comes to the augmented matrix. I have been working on this problm for four hours and have gotten even more confused. Any assistance with this problem would be greatly appreciated.
A company’s employees are working to create a new energy bar. They would like the two key ingredients to be peanut butter and oats, and they want to make sure they have enough carbohydrates and protein in the bar to supply the athlete. They want a total of 31 carbohydrates and 23 grams of protein to make the bar sufficient. Using the following table, create a system of two equations and two unknowns to find how many tablespoons of each ingredient the bar will need. Solve the system of equations using matrices. I need to process the following by utilizing the table below. I need to write an equation for the total amount of carbohydrates. Write an equation for the total amount of protein.Determine the augmented matrix that represents the equations from A and B. Solve for the matrix and determine how many tablespoons of each will there need to be for the new energy bar?
Grams of Nutrients per tablespoon
Peanut Butter with 2 grams of Carbohydrates and 6 grams of protein
Oats with 5 grams of Carbohydrates and 1 grams of protein

Question 145151: Could someone please tell me if I'm right on these two Cramer rule problems?
1) 2x + 5y = 3
x + 4y = 2
I got(2/3,1/3)
2)x + 2y = 4
3x - 2y = -12
I got(-8,6)
Thank you in advance for helping me.

Question 146084: Please solve the system of equation for all variables using a matrix.

My solution
2 1=-4
1 3=9
r2 reverse r1
1 3=9
2 1=-4
r2* -2
1 3=9
0 -1=-6
r2* 2
1 3=9
0 1=-12
r2*-3+r1
1 0=-6
0 1=-12
x= -6 and y= -12
Please help I'm trying to get these steps, but i think my mutiplcation is off somewhere. Thanks in advance.

Question 146083: Please solve the systems of equations for all variables using a matrix.

My Final answer Was X=5,y=1,z=-5 but when mutiplied it does not give me the numbers above. So I started working it again and got loss on the 4th step. Thanks in advance
I did this 1 2 0=7
0 3 1=5
2 0-3=-5,
r1 x-2+ r3
1 2 0=7
0 3 1=5
0-4-3=-19
r2 Divide by 3
1 2 0=7
0 1 3=0.6
0-4-3=-19
r3 divide by 4
1 2 0=7
0 1 3=0.6
0 0 1=-15
then i loss it and don't know which way to go

Question 150364: Use the Gauss - Jordan method to solve the system of equations.
3x +12y =-12
-6x-17y = 3
Here is my work, but i'm not sure if it's correct
[3 12 |-12] 1/3 R1
[-6 -17 |3] 2 R1 + R2
Turns to [1 4 |-4] -4 R2+R1
[0 7 |-27] 1/7
Turns to [1 0 |11 3/7] X= 11 3/7
[0 1 | -3 6/7] Y= -3 6/7
answer {(11 3/7, -3 6/7)}
