terms with same variables & having same exponents are like terms
x^2, 3x^2 -10x^2
xy,5xy,-10xy,-30xy
a^2b^2, 6a^2b^2,
3a^2b, 6a^2, 10a^2b
10abc,6abc,12abc
13x^2y^2z^3, 16x^2y^2z^3
In the above groups you will find that the variables and their exponents are same. They are like terms. coefficients may be different.
