Since the second equation is already solved for x, we substitute its value into the first equation...we get
5x - 6y = 32
x = 6 - 3y
and then
5(6 - 3y) - 6y = 32
30 - 15y - 6y = 32
-21y = 2
y = -2/21
Now plug that into the 2nd eqn and get
x = 6 - 3y
x = 6 - 3(-2/21)
x = 6 + 6/21
x = 6 2/7 or 44/7
Our system is consistent and independent.
