Question 23151: Let "T" be a linear Operator on a finite dimensional space "V"
and let "c" be a Scalar.
Then det(T-cI)will be equal to what?
Please note that ,I request to let me know the value of
Determinant(T-cI).(i mean wheather it is 0,1,2,3 or some other number).
Answer by khwang(438) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
You posted a very strange question.
det(cI-T ) is usually called the characteristic polynomial for T and
is used to find the eigenvalues for T, It has no values unless T and c are
given.
