I have the problem 4x+3y=7, -2x+4y=24. While I think the answer is (-2, 5), I can't figure out what to do next after finding the determinant ( - 1/5 ). Thanks!

det   = det  = 4*4 - (-2)*3 = 16+6 = 22.


det_X = det  = 7*4 - 3*24 = -44;   x =  =  = -2.


det_Y = det  = 4*24 - (-2)*7 = 110;   y =  =  = .


Answer.  x= -2;  y= 5.
