Question 1037681: Matrices transformation question!!
Transform the function y=2x^2+1 according to the following transformations. In order:
i) Dilate by 2 units in the direction of the y-axis
ii) Reflect about the line y=x
iii) Rotate the function anticlockwise by 90 degrees about the point (1,3)
Give your answer in the form y=ax^2+bx+c
A help would be very appreciated!
Answer by t0hierry(194) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Dilate by two units in the direction of the y axis means y turns to 2y
Reflect about y = x
means x and y are exchanged thus we get
Rotate anticlockwise by 90 degrees means x-1 turns into y-3 and y-3 into -(x-1).
