A) write in words a rule to get each number from its number position in the sequence.
B) write the rule in B in symbols, using n for the number position in the sequence.
the numbers are: a) 3,5,7,9,11 and b) 20,17,14,11

.double the number .add 5 .double the result .subtract 10 .divide the answer by 4. then it says repeat the same set of instructions with the numbers below and use the answers to complete the table. it says: start n = 1 3 5 7 and then end with m. it then says use algebra notation to write the instructions as an expression involving the letter n. please help me i really dont get the questions =( thanx heaps

b: Same slope as the graph of y-2x=3 and the same y-intercept as the graph of 3y+2x=6

Question 6263: hi...pls help me with this question...it looks really tricky if you cant i dnt blame you because know one know's how to do it!! this is really hard to explain. there is a pic of matches which make a box...the first box is made up of 6 matches the second box is made up of 10 matches but has a line down the middle and the third box is made up of 14 matches and has 2 lines down the middle. then the questions say: write in words 2 rules that tell you how many matches are needed for each number of letters....then the other question says: write both rules in C in symbols uising m for the number of matches and n for the number of letters. sorry i havent explained that very well :(

Question 6282: i have this question that shows a diagram of matches...and then a heap of questions..i have done some of the questions but the one i am about to explain to you is really tricky...it says write two rules that tell you how many matches are need for each number of letters..but then it says hint: one rule starts with multipication and the other starts with addition..can you please tell me what rules start with multipication and addition...thank you

Question 6389: Find an equation of the line that goes through the point (1,1) and have a slope equal to 1, graph it.
Would my two sets of points be (1,1) and (2,2) since this would be a slope of 1? Not sure how to graph.

Question 6477: I have to take a placement test for college for Algebra and the question I am having problems with is this . . . "What is the equation of the line that contains the points with (x,y) coordinates (-3,7) and (5,-1)? I know that the answer to the problem is y = -x+4. Anita invested a total of $5000 at the beginning of the year in two different funds. At the end of the year, her investment had grown to $5531. The money in the first fund earn 9%, while the money in the second fund earned 13.5%. How much of the $5000 was invested in each fund at the beginning of the year? Use a system of equations to solve this problem.

Question 6879: It has been over 24 years since I have used algebra. I have 2 days until I take a test for an electrition apperentiship. I have to take a simple algebra test. One of the questions is
A=B+3(4-C)
B=5 and C=2
What is the value of A
I know the anwser is 11 (according to the back of the book anwsers)
My question is, how do they get that anwser? I remember that you do the work in the () first which would be (4-2)which would equal 2
so A=B+3(2)
A=5+3(2)
A=8(2)
A=10
Which is not what they say it is.
Could you please tell me where I went wrong in my solving this question and some basic "this is what you do first" type of help.

Question 7193: I also need help with simplifying this problem:
(a^1/3 b^1/6)^2 (a^1/3 b^2/3).
I am not quite sure what to do with this. I usually dont have a problem simplifying but this is just confusing to me. Will some one help me understand it?
