Question 468143: Hopelessly stuck on a problem, any help would be appreciated! Problem - Produce a graph of the line given the equation: 1/4x - 3/5y = 12 Here's what I've worked out so far: - 3/5y = 12 - 1/4x y = 12 - 1/4x * - 5/3 y = 12 + 5x/12 I don't know if i've made a mistake to this point but from here I've tried using a table to find the points to graph but I'm not coming up with anything that makes sense. Question 468704: A problem in my textbook says: Solve .25x + .10(x-3) = .05(x+18) The book says to multiply both sides by 100. The result is 25x + 10(x-3) = 5(x+18). How did they get from the original equation to the result? I'm just unsure why (x-3) and (x+18) are unchanged. I'm also not sure how order of operations fits these steps.
