Question 44501: A business discovers a linear relationship between the number of shirts it can sell and the price per shirt. In particular, 20,000 shirts can be sold at $19 each and 2000 of the same shirts can be sold at $55 each. Write the slope-intercept equation of the demand line through the ordered pairs (20,000 shirts, $19) and (2000 shirts, $55). Then determine the number of shirts that can be sold at $50 each.

Question 44749: Im not sure what topic it would fall under. But here is my questions
the variable x is 4 less than the variable y?
answer I think it is, x - 4 = y
next question
if the variable t is multiplied by 5, the result is equal to the variable r.
answer I think it is, t * 5 = r
next question
if 3 is subtracted from the product of the variables x and y the result is equal to 4 time the variable z
this one I really couldn't understand
next question
the quotient of the variable x with the variable y is 2 more than o.7 of the variable z.
this is another one I don't understand.
If there is a way to explain the answer to me and how you get the answer I would appreciate it.

Question 44801: Can you please explain to me about what is a one solution, and no solution infinitive solution mean in a simple way? I am more of visual in number than word explanation. How do you know what they are when you solve the equation? Do you sitll have to process the equation with y=mx+b when you have equation x+2y=10 and 4y-20=2x
How do you solve by graphing? and what is the solution?
Your help is greatly appericated.

Question 45231: graphing 3x -4y = 12 by using the slope and y intercept.
a sample equation reads 2x - 3y = 6
3y = -2x + 6
y = 2/3x - 2 uncertain as to how that was broken down that way. the y intercept = (0,-2) and m(slope) = 2/3.
I'f I can decifer the pattern in the sample I just may be able to catch on.

Question 45249: find the equation of the line that passes through the point whose coordinates are (1, -1) and has slope 2.
y - (-1) = 2(x - 1) or y - (-1) = 2 (x + 1)
y + 1 = 2(x + 1)
y + 1 = 2x + 2
not sure if I even started that off right but the answer should be
y=2x-3
