Find the equation ofthe line which passes through (3,-2) and also parallel to the line y=3x+1
---------------
m=3,y=-2 when x=3
Use form y=mx+b to solve for "b":
-2 = 3*3+b
b = -11
EQUATION:
y=3x-11

Parallel lines have the same slope, and the slope of the line given is 3. So the parallel line will have slope 3 also.
So we will use the point slope form to fine the equation;
(Y-Y1)=m(X-X1)
y-(-2)=3(x-3)
y+2=3x-9
subtract 2 from both sides;
y=3x-9-2
y=3x-11 = equation of line that is parallel to the other
