Slope is defined as the change in y over the change in x. Just one note of caution the ordered pair you start from to figure the numerator you must use to figure the denominator. To figure the slope do the following: 12-4/3-5=8/-2=-4.
In order to find the slope of the line perpendicular to the points take the NEGATIVE RECIPROCAL of the original slope which in this case is 1/4.
