Question 98155: how do you graph using intercept
4x-3y=12

How do you graph using intercept
:
4x - 3y = 12
:
Put the graph in the slope intercept form:
4x - 3y = 12
-3y = -4x + 12
We want y to be positive, multiply equation by -1
3y = +4x - 12
Divide equation by 3 to get 1y
y = (4/3)x - (12/3)
y = (4/3)x - 4, is the slope/intercept form
:
Graph by making a table assigning a value to x and solving for y:
x | y
--------
-3 |-8
0 |-4
+3 | 0
+6 |
+9 |
You should be able to finish this table
:
This is a linear equation so you really only need to have two points, a 3rd
point, will confirm it as a straight line. should look like this
