Hi there,
y =2/5x + 3
Gradient = 2/5
Lines that are parallel
have the same gradient.
Therefore using line equation
y - b = m(x - a)
with m = 2/5 and (-5,-1)
y - (-1) = 2/5(x - (-5))
y + 1 = 2/5(x + 5))
y + 1 = 2/5x + 2
y = 2/5x + 2 - 1
y = 2/5x + 1
Hope this helps:-)
