A woman jogging at 6mi/h passes a man biking in the opposite direction at 12mi/h. If they maintain their speeds, how far from each other will they be in 10 min after passing?

In 10 minutes the woman will have walked 1 mile, while the bikerman will have walked 2 miles. As they're walking in opposite directions, they'll be three miles apart.

Distance covered by the woman in 10 minutes =speed* time
=6 * 10/60 (since 10 minutes = 10/60 hr)
= 1 mile
Distance covered by the man in 10 minutes = 12* 10/60
= 2mile
therefore they are (1+2) = 3miles apart after 10 minutes
