Question 97891: how do you graph this linear equation using three points?

equation: 3x-4y=12

Answer by edjones(8007)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
3x-4y=12
you can use any real number for your 1st number (x or y)then find out the value of the other number (y or x) and put them in this form (x,y)
Example: x=0 then -4y=12 y=12/-4=-3 the first point, (0,-3).
2nd: y=0 then 3x=12 x=12/3=4 another point, (4,0)
3rd: x=1 then 3-4y=12 -4y=12-3=9 y=9/-4=-2.25 (1,-2.25)
the graph should look like this.
