Question 975700: 2/x-1 +3/y 1=2 ,3/x-1+
2/y 1=13/6
value of x or y =?
Answer by amarjeeth123(570) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
2/x-1 +3/y-1=2.............equation 1
3/x-1+2/y-1=13/6...........equation 2
Multiplying equation 1 by 2 we get
4/x-1+6/y-1=4.............equation 3
Multiplying equation 2 by 3 we get
9/x-1+6/y-1=13/2..........equation 4
Subtracting equation 3 from 4 we get,
(9/x-1)-(4/x-1)=13/2-4
5/x-1=5/2
x-1=2
x=3
Substituting in equation 1 we get,
2/2+3/y-1=2
3/y-1=1
y=4
Answer:x=3 and y=4
