Answer by algebrahouse.com(1659) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
To find the x-intercept, substitute 0 for y.
To find the y-intercept, substitute 0 for x.
x-intercept:
8x + 6y = 24
8x + 6(0) = 24 {substituted 0 for y}
8x = 24 {multiplied}
x = 3 {divided each side by 8}
(3,0) is the x-intercept}
y-intercept
8(0) + 6y = 24 {substituted 0 for x}
6y = 24 {multiplied}
y = 4 {divided each side by 6}
(0,4) is the y-intercept

.
To find x-intercept set y=0
8x+6y=24
8x=24
x=3
x-intercept: (3.0)
.
To find y-intercept set x=0
8x+6y=24
6y=24
y=4
y-intercept: (0,4)

find the x-and y- intercepts of the line 8x + 6y=24 and sketch on a graph
--------------
x-intercept ?
Let y = 0
Then 8x = 24
x = 3
x-int is (3,0)
-------------------
y-intercept ?
Let x = 0
Then 6y = 24
y = 4
y-int is (0,4)
------
Graph::
Plot those two points and draw a line thru them::
