0.018+(x-4)/25 = 0.07(x-2)-0.06(x-0.3) On the left put each term over 25. Since you are going to reduce 0.018, first you multiply it times 25, 0.018*25= 0.45. Now when you divide it by 25 you haven't changed the original problem:
0.45/25+(x-4)/25 = 0.07(x-2)-0.06(x-0.3)Combine the left:
(x-4+0.45)/25 = 0.07(x-2)-0.06(x-0.3)Group like terms on the left, specifically x-4+0.45 = x+(0.45-4)So now we'll have:
(x+(0.45-4))/25 = 0.07(x-2)-0.06(x-0.3)
(x+-3.55)/25 = 0.07(x-2)-0.06(x-0.3)Now let's work on the right side. Distribute 0.07: 0.07(x-2) = 0.07x-0.14 Now we have:

.04(x – 4) + 0.018 = .07x – .14 - .06x + .018 ------ Converting  to .04, and distributing on the right side

.04x - .16 + 0.018 = .07x - .14 - .06x + 0.018 ----- Distributing left side

.04x - .16 + 0.018 - 0.018 = .07x - .06x - .14

.04x - .16 = .01x - .14

.04x - .01x = - .14 + .16

.03x = .02
