A summer carnival charges a $2 admission fee and $0.50 for each ride. If Tamara has $10 to spend, how many rides can she go on?
----------------
Let the number of rides she can go on be "x".
EQUATION:
2 + 0.50x = 10
0.50x = 8
x = 8/0.5
x = 16 rides (# of rides she can go on)
