in the absence of the information I assume that u have to plot the given equation on graph.
if it is so, then you have to assume the values of either of variable and put it in equation and find the value of other variable.
Eg:
let X=2
then
-2(2)+2Y=-4
2y=-4+4
y=0
so we got values for x and y i.e 2 & 0 respectively, now plot it on graph. in similar way find at least five values of X and Y and plot them on graph and then connect each plotting with other so you will get a slop (either downward or upward) and this will proof that the equation is a linear equation
