Question:
Solve. 10x – 4 – 5x = 6 + 3x – 8
Answer:
10x – 4 – 5x = 6 + 3x – 8
Collect the like terms together....
10x – 5x – 4 = 6 – 8 + 3x
==> 5x - 4 = -2 + 3x
Subtract 3x from both sides....
==> 5x - 4 - 3x = -2 + 3x - 3x
==> 5x - 3x - 4 = -2
==> 2x - 4 = -2
Add 4 on both sides...
==> 2x - 4 + 4 = -2 + 4
==> 2x = 2
Divide by 2 on both sides....
==>
==> x = 1
So solution is x = 1
Hope you found the explanation useful.
