Question 907406: I do not understand Slope at all.
Here is the question -
One particularly large ant hill found in 1997 measured 40 inches wide at the base and 18 inches high. What was the slope of the ant hill?
Someone told me the answer is 9/10? How? Are you supposed to find the radius of the base??
Answer by ewatrrr(24785) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
What was the slope of the ant hill? change in height/change in base length
Assuming max height was measured at the middle of base length: 18/20 = 9/10
What is important about Slope is that it refers to: change in height relative to the change in base value
