2x-7y=9
8x+5y=69

Answer by rothauserc(4718)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
multiply the firs equation by 4
8x -28y = 36
now subtract the result above from the second equation
33y = 33
y = 1
now substitute for y in first equation
2x -7 = 9
2x = 16
x = 8
our answer is x = 8 and y = 1
