The points (-1,x) and (4, 3x+1) are on a line with slope -17. What is x
slope=∆y/∆x=(3x+1)-x/(4-(-1))=(2x+1)/(4+1)=(2x+1)/5
(2x+1)/5=-17
2x+1=-85
2x=-86
x=-43
