3x+4y=12 |careful: hopping over the = with the 3x changes the sign of that term
('Hopping' is the same as Adding -3x to both sides of the Equation)

y + 5 = (-3/4)(x - 2)
y = (-3/4)x + 3/2 - 5 (-5 = -10/2)
y = (-3/4)x - 7/2

That leaves you with a single variable equation in . Solve for and substitute back into your slope-intercept form equation to get the equation of the desired parallel.
