Answer by tutorcecilia(2152) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The distributive property and solving for an unknown variable (linear equations):
v-4(4-v)=2(2v-1)
v-16+4v=4v-2
5v-16=4v-2
5v-4v-16=4v-4v-2
v-16=-2
v-14+16=-2+16
v=14
.
Checking:
v-4(4-v)=2(2v-1)
(14)-4(4-(14))=2(2(14)-1)
14+40=2((28)-1)
54=54 [checks out]
