Express the equation in general form. Slope -6/7; containing the point (10,-9) what is the equation for the line?

m= - 6/ 7
The required line passes through both the point. So we select one point and plug it with the slope
Plug value of the slope and point ( 10 , -9 ) in
Y = m x + b
-9 = - 6/7 * 10 + b
-9 = -60/7 + b
b= -9 + 60/7
b= - 3/ 7
So the equation will be
Y = - 6/7 x - 3/7
you may writre in general form now
7y=-6x-3
6x+7y+3 =0

Slope-Intercept form, y=mx+b where m is slope, b is y-intercept.
Slope and one point is given. You can solve generally for b and use the given point and slope to compute b:
