x+2y = 1

2y = 1 - x

2y = -x + 1

y = (-x + 1)/2

y = (-x)/2 + 1/2

y = (-1/2)x + 1/2

The equation is in the form y = mx + b, where m = -1/2 and b = 1/2

So the slope is -1/2
