Distribute.


Combine like terms on the left side.


Add to both sides.


Subtract from both sides.


Combine like terms on the left side.


Combine like terms on the right side.


Simplify.


Since the equation is never true for any x value, this means that there are NO solutions.

2x=8
x=8/2
