Question 82754: Find the equation of a line that is perpendicular to 3x+2y=12 and passes through the point (0,2)
Answer by checkley75(3666)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
3x+2y=12
2y=-3x+12
y=-3x/2-12/2
y=-3x/2-6 this line has a slope of -3/2 therefore the perpendicular line has a slope of the negative reciprical or 2/3.
the the equation for this perpendicular line passing through (0,2) is:
2=2/3*0+b
2=b the y intercept.
thus the line formula is:
y=2x/3+2
