Hello,
Let's put this 3x + 4y = 12 in Slope-intercept form and life will be easy.
3x + 4y = 12
Subtract 3x and divide by 4 to give us:
y = -3/4x+3
Now we can see the slope is -3/4 and the line crosses the y axis at 3(y intercept)
Make sense?

put 3x+4y =12 to slope formula.
slope formula: y = mx+b m=slope b=y-intercept
3x+4y=12 => 4y=-3x+12 => y=(-3/4)x+3
m=-3/4
b=3
answer: slope: -3/4 y-intercept: (0,3)
