The slopes of perpendicular lines are negative reciprocals of each other. The negative part of "negative reciprocals" means the reciprocals have opposite signs.
So to find a negative reciprocal of some number:- Write it as a fraction if it is not already a fraction. (Put integers over a 1.)
- Flip your number upside down and change its sign,
So to find the negative reciprocal of 2/3...
1. It is already a fraction.
2. Flip it upside down and change the sign: -3/2
