Please show work and be detailed, I am very confused. Thanks in advance!
Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Find the coordinates of two points on the line with the given equation. Then use the points to find the slope AND Y-Intercept.
y = -3x + 11
Please show work and be detailed,
-----
Points:
If x = 0, y = 11
if x = 1, y = 8
----------
Points:: (0,11) and (1,8)
--------
slope = (11-8)/(0-1) = 3/-1 = -3
--------
Intercept :: ??
Form y = mx + b
Substitute for y,x,m and solve for "b":
11 = -3*0 + b
b = 11
That is the y-intercept.
--------

Stan H.
