A coffee shop sells coffee for $7.60 for a 12-ounce bag and $11.60 for a 20-ounce bag. The store just came out with a 28-ounce bag. What would be a good price for the bag?
--------
You are given two points of a linear function: (12,7.6) and (20,11.6)
Find the equation:
m=[11.6-7.6]/[20-12]= 4/8 = 1/2
Find the y intercept: 11.6=(1/2)20+b ; 11.6=10+b; b=1.6
EQUATION: y=(1/2)x+1.6

-------
Now, solve for y if x = 28
y=(1/2)28+1.6 = $15.60
