Question 799596: How do you solve:
y=8x+3
In to slope y intercept and x intercept.

Answer by waynest(281)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
y = 8x + 3
y = 8(0) + 3
y = 3
y-intercept : (0, 3)
y = 8x + 3
-3 = 8x + 3 - 3
-3 = 8x
-3/8 = 8x/8
-3/8 = x
-0.375 = x
x-intercept: (-0.375, 0)
slope: choose any two values for x
(2, 19) ; (-2, -13)
slope = (y1 - y2)/(x1 - x2)
= (19 - (-13))/(2 - (-2))
= (19 + 13)/(2 + 2)
= 32/4
= 8
