For the straight line defined by the points (3, 51) and (5, 87), determine the slope and y-intercept.

slope = (87-51)/(5-3) = 36/2 = 18
----------
Form: y = mx + b
y-intercept::
Substitute fr y,m,x to solve for "b":
87 = 18*5 + b
b = 87-90
b = -3

Equation:
y = 18x - 3
