Question 783310: Write in slope-intercept form (if possible) and standard form an equation of the line described
perpendicular to 4x – 3y = 2 and contains (1, 2)

4 x + -3 y = 2
Find the slope of this line

-3 y = -4 x + 2
Divide by -3
y = 1 1/ 3 x + - 2/3
Compare this equation with y=mx+b, m= slope & b= y intercept
slope m = 1 1/3

The slope of a line perpendicular to the above line will be the negative reciprocal - 3/4
Because m1*m2 =-1
The slope of the required line will be - 3/4

m= - 3/4 ,point ( 1 , 2 )
Find b by plugging the values of m & the point in
y=mx+b
2 = - 3/ 4 + b
b= 11/4
m= - 3/4
The required equation is y = - 3/ 4 x + 11/ 4

multiply by 4
4y=-3x+11
3x+4y=11
